| Corporations, LLCs, and registered Limited Partnerships doing business in Vermont must continuously maintain a Registered Agent with a physical Vermont street address (a PO Box alone does not qualify). The agent may be an individual resident of Vermont or an entity authorized to do business in Vermont, must be available at that address during normal business hours to accept service of process, and receives official state notices on the entity's behalf. The exact eligibility rules, consent/appointment procedure, and change-of-agent process are set by Vermont statute - see the official statute link below for the controlling text. |
